If you're still struggling for your best move forward, here's seven ways to get ahead.
KEEP IT SIMPLE If you're struggling to break the ice, your easiest play is your best one. "The best line that's worked on me is 'hello, hi, my name is so and so, what are you having? Can I buy you another?'," Jay says. "This works much better than sending one over then coming to talk to me. Whoever started that was silly. It assumes that the sender is automatically granted the right to talk the woman but it really doesn't."
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF Wishy-washy isn't going to work for Jay. "I want my man to have a really strong character, and the decisions he makes are based on his strong self-belief," she says. So instead of doing a softshoe shuffle, be confident in your inner self, knowing that what you do will attract her even more.
STAY IN FIRST PLACE There's this thing about the value of monogamy which women desire and Jay explains it quite succinctly. "I need him to know that he only needs to make one woman happy. It's not how much he's out there and played the field that makes him a big man. It comes from the fact that he can say no to temptation," she says. "A guy who is good-looking, who has everything, and decides to not be easy to women, that's sexy to me."
ADOPT LARGESSE Okay, you've heard that cracking up a woman is great for warming her up. But what really stokes the fires is an attitude of being able to take what you dish out. "That self-deprecating humor is important, because a guy who thinks it's funny to make fun of everyone else but not himself isn't all that funny," Jay says.
LIVE YOUR DREAM "I don't know if I speak for all women, but to me, a rich man isn't the most important thing," Jay says. "For me, it's about finding a guy who wants to get there, who shows a need to compete so he can provide for the family emotionally and also financially," she says. So good news then, because if you're not quite there, don't fret it. Just make sure you're plugging away at your ambitions instead of stewing in mediocrity.
DO A LITTLE SELFMAINTENANCE Beyond the obvious fact that being fit will improve your chances with a woman, working out is also important because it will motivate her also. "I like the guy I'm with to be fit. It helps me keep up also, and that's especially important when I've given birth and need to really get back in shape."
CONCENTRATE ON DETAILS Jay says one of her biggest 'wow' moments in a relationship was when she was surprised by a home-cooked meal on Valentine's day. "An ex-boyfriend of mine, who was the kind who would delegate everything and had never been in a kitchen, decided to make me fettuccine and mash which was my favorite food in the whole wide world," she recalls. "The mash was even pre-mixed with Tabasco sauce because I usually douse Tabasco over my mash. Sure, it tasted funny, but it really got me how he noticed this detail all the time we had been together," she adds. "It wasn't gifts or flowers but it was the most amazing experience because this sort of thing
