A Cola Conundrum
We know that sugary beverages in a can is empty calories and a precursor to metabolic syndrome. But even worse, the Greeks from the Department of Internal Medicine at the Ioannina University in Greece conducted what appears to have been a review of published case reviews: and concludes that drinking vast quantities of cola (ranging from two to nine liters a day) can lead to muscle weakness, fatigue, and even paralysis – symptoms of hypokalaemia, or abnormally low blood levels of potassium.
