Not in the Office!
Save that dirty joke for happy hour: Sex talk at work hurts employee morale, even among those who claim to enjoy it, say Canadian researchers. They surveyed more than 1,200 women and men about workplace sexual behaviors, from jokes to come-ons and touching, and asked about their psychological states and attitudes toward work. The more the employees were exposed to sexual behaviours, the less valued they felt at work and the lower their psychological well-being, explains study author Karl Aquino PhD. Despite outward reactions, people may harbour negative feelings about sexual banter, and that can affect mood, he says.
