Sleep More and Win
Set the alarm for later: The more you sleep, the more you increase your speed, reflexes, and power in competition, a Stanford University study reveals. College tennis players who aimed for 10 hours of shut-eye a night for 6 weeks saw a significant boost in their overall performance—including an 8% improvement in sprinting. Previous sleep studies at Stanford have shown advantages for runners and swimmers, as well as basketball, soccer, and football players. “Treat sleep as a part of your training,” says lead study author Cheri Mah MS.
