Stealth Health Food: Milk
You’re never too old for a glass: That’s because drinking milk may help stave off a heart attack. In a recent review of studies on dairy consumption, British researchers determined that people who drank the most milk had a 16% lower risk of heart disease than people who drank the least. Plus, downing the most milk was associated with a 20% dip in stroke occurrence. Credit the beverage’s high amount of calcium, which is important for reducing blood pressure, says study author Peter Elwood MD. He advises that you drink about 2 glasses a day.
