Watermelon Makes You Stronger


A slice is right for increased strength – and it doesn’t cost the earth. Training supplements, though far from a false economy, are often a shock to the wallet. Thankfully, science sometimes steps in with a solution both practical and budget friendly. An amino acid found in watermelon has the potential to boost the amount of weight you can handle and add more reps to your workout. Citrulline malate, as the acid is called, buffers muscle fatigue if you consume it daily. You may want to blend a pre-workout smoothie with half of one. But taking one in your gym bag will make you look like, well… a bit of a melon, really.
