What they are

Despite the unique colour, they’re similar to red potatoes in taste and texture.


Why they’re healthy

The purple hue signals that the spuds are high in antioxidants, a 2012 University of Guelph study found.


How to eat them

Boil them, smash them with a fork, and drizzle on some olive oil. Add crumbled goat cheese, chopped fresh chives, and some salt and pepper.
