Researchers from Stephen F Austin University found that bicycling can sap your strength when you do it longer than 20 minutes. And running can inhibit your gains even more. “If your primary goal is to add strength and muscle, doing cardio before or after training will limit your gains compared with doing strength training alone,” says study author Jeff Gergley EdD.
